This airport's name is in a way derived from its location. Dallas Fort Worth Airport is located between Dallas and Fort Worth cities, 24 kilometers northwest of Dallas and 29 kilometers northeast of Fort Worth. It serves the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan and its carriers provide flights to regional, national and international destinations. It houses the American Airlines headquarters.
It has five terminals that are shaped in a semi-circular design which is meant to minimize the distance from the passengers' cars to the aircrafts. It also makes the flow of traffic around the terminals smooth. Passengers get to and from the airport by the Trinity Railway Express, a commuter train which has its station on the southern side of the airport. It serves both Dallas and Fort Worth cities. From the station to the airport however, you have to board a shuttle service that will take you to the buses which serve between the station and the airport. There are specific buses for specific terminals. You can also take a taxi, a van or a shuttle to the airport. People also go to the airport by private means.
There are four parking options at the airport. One is the Terminal Parking which is availed to all the terminals and it is very convenient because of the proximity of the terminals, the second is Express Parking which are two in number and they are used by the free shuttle buses, the third is Remote Parking which is a long-term parking areas for passengers who may want to leave their vehicles in the airport and pick them on their way back, and the final one is the Valet Parking where you leave airport valets to park your car as you carry on with your business, or bring it to you when you arrive.
